Just a note that I will have a table at the Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend.  The show will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center on Saturday, August 28th from 10-6 and Sunday, August  29th from 10-5.

I will be at table A154 in Artist Alley.  I will of course have copies of my older material (including Sky Girl) and will also be premiering a new book called Worlds Beyond from the Comicbook Artist Guild.  Not only did I contribute a story called "It All Started with a Mouse" an animatronic murder mystery, but I also co-edited the other stories in the book.

Come out and say hi.

Mention Cup of Geek and get a free hug.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Saint Clair, MO/August 5, 2010
— Joe Sergi, author of Sky Girl and the Superheroic Legacy, recently spoke to the Children Authors Show about his book, his comic career, and his desire to expand superhero stories beyond the comic book medium.  His interview will air at http://www.thechildrenauthorsshow.com on August 9th and 10th.

Joe Sergi, the author of the middle-grade/young adult novel Sky Girl and the Superheroic Legacy, will be featured on the Children Authors Show on August 9-10th. Sergi's novel, which has been released by small press publisher iEnovel, tells the origin of Sky Girl, a fifteen year old girl from Colonia, New Jersey who gains similar abilities to a fictional superhero named SkyBoy. Sergi hopes to challenge misconceptions about the superhero genre and prove that these types of stories have a life outside of the four color word of comic books. "Many people accept that comics are a medium and not a genre. Crime, horror and romance genres have had great success in the comics medium, superhero stories should not be limited to the comics medium." Sergi also answers questions, discusses the inspiration for the book, his writing process, and offers suggestions to other aspiring authors.

Sergi lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and daughter. Further information about Sergi's publications can be found at http://www.Joesergi.net and http://www.Skygirlnovel.com, the official website for Sky Girl and the Superheroic Legacy.
