Shameless Self Promotion: New Issue of Psi-Kotic

Metahuman Press has posted the new installment of my superheroine prose story: Psi-Kotic.

Metahuman Press Presents PSI-KOTIC by Joe Sergi!  Beatriz “Betty” Ortiz was always intuitive. This skill helped her survive two tours in Iraq. Now stateside, she is at the wrong place at the wrong time when a suicide bomber from a White Supremacist group strikes. The explosion horrifically scars Betty and imbeds pieces of the bomber’s human shrapnel under her skin. The explosion also gives Betty the subconscious ability to use 66% of her brain. As a result, Betty discovers that she merely has to touch a person and she will “learn” their skill and ability. But, Betty’s abilities come with a high price. The human shrapnel imbedded in her skin forces her to share her mind and memories with James Jefferson, the suicide bomber, who can take over her body when she sleeps. Betty decides to use her powers to fight crime and dons a colorful costume and adopts the identity of Psi-Kotic.

In this issue, Psi-Kotic finally makes her move against the villainous O.W.L. soldiers who have taken the Hospital staff hostage.  The Agent earns his fee. Plus, we finally find out what Aggie has been knitting all this time.

Come read Psi-Kotic ISSUE 7: What I Really Want to Do Is Direct 4: The Only Chance Anyone Has Got.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball's was inspired by the children's book of the same name by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett.  The movie is clever, well down with an excellent voice cast and is almost as good as a Pixar movie.

The Costumes of Baltimore Comic-Con

10/12/2009

Picture
The Baltimore Comic-Con is a great show.  It does not have the Hollywood presence of some other shows like SDCC or NYCC, but it is great for a comic fan.  The show is large enough to attract big name creators, but small enough to get face time with them.  And while cosplay is generally synonomous with conventions, Baltimore has been pretty light on costume goers.

That changed this year, with the creation of the first annual costume contest.  But, it is much more fun to see these cosplayers in their naturally habitat--the show floor.  If you want to see the contest entrants,   The Baltimore Sun has that.

Enjoy the pictures after the break.

Can it be true? Will Chuck come back early? EW thinks so.

This one is a quickie. Former TV Guide turned Entertainment Weekly gossip guru Michael Ausiello is reporting that Chuck may come back as soon as the end of the month.

On a return date, Ausiello states:

As early as late October, my moles tell me. And while it remains unclear whether the little show that could (and has and shall again) would return to its Monday timeslot or find itself a new perch, NBC insiders who’ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet.

But wait, there’s more. If Chuck does come back sooner rather than later, the chances of NBC ordering additional episodes beyond the 13 it initially commissioned increases dramatically. And they increase further if it performs solidly… which for NBC, at this point, means my cat, Mister Scooch, sits down to watch with me. (Seriously, anything above a 2 rating in the 18-49 demo should do the trick.)

God bless you, Michael Ausiello (even though I still haven't forgiven you for the fact that you left TV Guide and thus ended the TV Guide Podcast).

To tie you over, after the jump, I present some exclusive pictures from SDCC and NYCC. All this, plus Jeffster!
