Are you a fan of the television show Lost?  Do you want visit the Island?  Hang out with Jack and Kate? Have dinner with Hurley? Maybe, face off against the smoke monster?  Well, you may get your chance.  A petition to convert  "Tom Sawyer Island" into the Lost island has surfaced onlin.

More after the jump.

For those of you not vested in the history of Disneyland.  Tom Sawyer’s Island opened in 1956, one year after the opening of Disneyland Park. Disney decided to go with a Tom Sawyer theme to be more compatible with Frontierland. (There were other ideas for the area such as "Mickey Mouse Island" and "Treasure Island.").  The island remained largely unchanged until 1992, when the south end of the Island was re-built for Fantasmic.  In 2007, Tom Sawyer Island received major upgrades, new show elements, and a complete re-theming inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and featuring characters from the movie.  Tom Sawyer Island re-opened as Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.

Now, Lost fans are clamoring for the island to be changed again so that pirates will be replaced by Others.

Some say that, because Lost is in its last season, that it is too late for this type of attraction.  However, “The American Idol Experience” just opened in the Hollywood Studios in Florida and that show continually “threatens” to be in its last season.  I should note that Disney is the parent of ABC, which airs lost. So, there would be more synergy than in the American Idol Experience.

Currently, over 3000 people have signed the petition.  A review of the signatures reveals that it has been signed by both  Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.  The petition can be found here and says,

To:  Televsion and Disnet Fans

LOST is one of the best television series to ever be broadcast on television. Disney should give this awesome show it’s due and create a LOST Island attraction at one of it’s Disney theme parks. Just think of the locations that can be immortalized in a Disney location.

- The Frozen Donkey Wheel behind the Orchid Station testing chamber.
- The Swan station and Hatch ride
- A submarine ride to Palu Ferry.
- Dharmaville Barracks.
- Smoke monster
- Ruins
- Jacob’s Cabin
- The Egyptian Statue and Jacob’s Lair

Give us Die Hard LOST fans our Theme park ride!

Sincerely,

Is this the Lost Supper or will the attraction keep Lost going?
